PICCA’S ADA Policy
This ADA paratransit policy is written to establish operating and service guidelines and procedures for the implementation of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) regulations for implementing ADA (49 CFR Parts 27, 37 and 38), and any applicable state laws and regulations. PICCA Transit operates a demand response service and complies with ADA requirements with respect to such services.
PICCA Transit offers a complimentary Paratransit option for its Fixed Route service.

PICCA Transit Paratransit Services Summary
PICCA Transit provides both fixed route service and complementary paratransit service in Pickaway County, with some limited transportation to nearby counties. Their paratransit service is designed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
Key Points About Paratransit Service
Eligibility: Available to individuals whose disabilities prevent them from using the fixed route system.
Service Area: Covers within ¾ mile of all fixed routes.
Scheduling: Next-day service is available with appointments bookable up to 30 days in advance.
Pickup Window: Riders should be ready 15 minutes before and after scheduled pickup time.
Fares: Cannot exceed twice the fare of a similar fixed route trip.
No Restrictions: No limitations on trip purpose or number of trips.
How to Request a Paratransit Trip
Call PICCA Transit during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

Pickup times can be negotiated up to one hour before or after your requested time.
Be prepared with your origin, destination, and desired pickup time.
Additional Information
All PICCA Transit vehicles are wheelchair accessible.
Service animals are permitted on all vehicles.
Drivers can provide route information but cannot enter riders' homes.
Service is closed on Sundays and major holidays.
During emergencies (snow, street closings), service may be modified.
PICCA Transit reviews its paratransit policy annually to ensure compliance with federal requirements and to address any necessary service changes.
